Brainstorming ideas for call: „Democracy needs imagination“
The European Cultural Foundation gives away grants of up to 50k for ideas concerning the EU parliamentary elections on May 23–26
The European Cultural Foundation gives away grants of up to 50k for ideas concerning the EU parliamentary elections on May 23–May 26. This is a very nice opportunity to get funded for a cool campaign or experiment. The funding will be part of our non-profit activity.
Ideally our ideas should be
- Feasible in a very short amount of time (Middle of March to End of April)
- Doable with a budget of 50k max
- Align with our values and possibly current projects/platforms (OPIN.me etc)
The sooner we hand in an idea, the sooner we could get funding!
From the description on the fundations website:
What are we looking for? We fund creative, cultural actions prior, during and after the EU parliamentary elections that can breathe life into Europe, and democracy at large. Priority is given to proposals related to, and taking place before or during the European elections (May 23-26). We want your innovative and provocative ideas that challenge the negative discourse and are able to become inspiring examples from the local to the European levels.
How and when can I apply? Since this is a special year for Europe, we have special rules for this open call:
The call is permanently open as of February 2019 until the available budget has been spent. We select projects on a rolling basis, meaning: first come, first serve.
Every couple of weeks we share with you the latest selection of projects through our online channels, as well as an update on how much budget remains.
We refine and select the best idea in the MMM on Feb. 20, 2019
The ideas posted here will be refined and decided upon in the next MMM on February 20, 2019. After that the acquisitions team will put the winning idea into an application form and attach a budget calculation for it.
